Physically, it builds strength of muscle and bones. It increases flexibility and improves posture. It teaches teens to respect and honor their bodies and to accept the physical changes they are going through.
Mentally, it teaches teens how to relax and it provides techniques for stress management. It enhances decision making by teaching teens to makes choices that respect themselves and others.
It builds self-esteem, intuition and self-trust, and cultivates compassion for themselves and others and the natural world around them.
Yoga becomes a tool for self-regulating. When life gives them challenges, yoga helps them as a resource to make safe choices.
